EFMP Parent Support Group: Share common experiences unique to special needs families and learn about new information and resources. We meet the third Wednesday of every month at the Airman and Family Readiness Center.

Nellis Company Grade Officer’s Council: The Nellis CGOC provides a source of social and professional development for all company grade officers at Nellis. Volunteer and leadership opportunities are available as well as the chance to network with other like-minded professionals at Nellis. Monthly meetings are held the last Thursday of every month at Robin’s Roost in the Club from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call (702) 652-9623.

Deployed Spouses supporting Deployed Spouses: Stay strong during deployments and meet with other deployed spouses. Share ideas, learn coping skills, socialize and more. Meetings are held at the Airman and Family Readiness Center from 11 a.m. to noon the first and third Monday of each month. For more information, call (702) 652-3327.

The legal office expands appointment availability: The legal office has expanded its appointment availability to better serve you. Appointments are now available 9-11 a.m., and 1-3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9-11 a.m., Friday. Due to the expanded appointment availability, walk-in hours are no longer available. To book an appointment, call the legal assistance phone line at (702) 652-7531.

Air University temporarily suspended: The Air University has temporarily suspended all active duty enrollments in the NCO Academy Distance Learning Academy Distance Learning Course. Active cuty students who were enrolled in the course have been dis-enrolled. The course is open only to reserve and guard members at this time.

Work out group: Work out with the AM-Extreme Group at the Warrior Fitness Center. Classes include: Insanity and Ab Ripper, 5:15-6:20 a.m., Mondays and Fridays in the Cardio Room; P90X, 5:15-6:20 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Cardio Room; and YogaX, 4:40-6:20 a.m., Wednesdays at Racquetball Court three. Transition Assistance Program: The airman and family readiness center has scheduled Transition Assistance Program Workshops 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 10 to 13 and Feb. 24 to 27. The workshop is designed to teach students how they can apply their military-acquired skills in the civilian sector and prepare for their next career. To register, call (702) 652-3327.

Preparation for Parenthood: Feb. 10 and 24 at the airman and family readiness center. Topics include caring for a newborn, child safety, breast/bottle feeding, budgeting for a new baby, child development and infant temperament. Free baby bundles valued at $75 and donated by the Air Force Aid Society will be handed out to attendees after class. For more information and reservations, call (702) 652-3327.

Building Healthy Relationships: Feb. 7 at the airman and family readiness center. A strong, healthy relationship can be one of the best supports in your life. Preparation for Parenthood: Feb. 18, 6-7 p.m., at the base chapel. This is a four-week course for expectant parents. Topics include budgeting for a new baby, caring for a newborn, breast/bottlefeeding, child safety, infant CPR and child development. Resume tips and job search class: Feb. 19, 9-11:30 a.m. at the airman and family readiness center. Get the latest trends on resume styles; learn interviewing techniques and how to network. To register, call (702) 652-3327.

Youth Photography Class: Feb .21, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the youth center. Learn about cameras and how to take pictures. Cost is this two-hour class is $15 for members, and $25 for non-members.

First Time Homebuyer’s Seminar: Feb. 25, 10-11:30 a.m. at the airman and family readiness center. Buying a home is the most significant purchase most people make … make it smart and stress free. To register, call the airman and family readiness center at (702) 652-3327.

Resume writing: The second Thursday of each month, 9-11 a.m. at the airman and family readiness center. Topics include networking, cover letters, announcements, resumes and marketing yourself. For more information, all (702) 652-3327.

Basic Investing Class: The airman and family readiness center will be holding a Basic Investing Class Feb. 26 for those getting started or thinking about getting started in investing. To register, call (702) 652-3327.

SCUBA Certifications: Feb. 28, 6 p.m. at the Warrior Fitness Center. Cost is $355. This SCUBA certification package begins with the orientation class at 6 p.m., Feb. 28 at the Outdoor Adventures classroom. The class will last about three-hours. The three-hour pool session will be at the Warrior Pool at 6 p.m., March 6. The open water certification will take place at Lake Mead at a date and time coordinated between the student and the instructor. All books, equipment and instruction are provided for you to obtain certification. If you are a no-show or unable to complete the initial pool session you may be charged a pool fee for the makeup pool session(s).

Job Fair: April 17, 9 a.m.-noon at the airman and family readiness center. Representatives from a variety of local and out-of-state businesses will be on hand. Bring your resume and other necessary paperwork. For more information, call (702) 652-3327.
