Nellis Company Grade Officer’s Council: The Nellis CGOC provides a source of social and professional development for all company grade officers at Nellis. Volunteer and leadership opportunities are available as well as the chance to network with other like-minded professionals at Nellis. The legal office expands appointment availability: The legal office has expanded its appointment availability to better serve you. Appointments are now available 9-11 a.m., and 1-3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9-11 a.m., Friday. Due to the expanded appointment availability, walk-in hours are no longer available. Air University temporarily suspended: The Air University has temporarily suspended all active duty enrollments in the NCO Academy Distance Learning Academy Distance Learning Course. Active cuty students who were enrolled in the course have been dis-enrolled. The course is open only to reserve and guard members at this time.
Work out group: Work out with the AM-Extreme Group at the Warrior Fitness Center. Classes include: Insanity and Ab Ripper, 5:15-6:20 a.m., Mondays and Fridays in the Cardio Room; P90X, 5:15-6:20 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Cardio Room; and YogaX, 4:40-6:20 a.m., Wednesdays at Racquetball Court three. Transition Assistance Program: The airman and family readiness center has scheduled Transition Assistance Program Workshops for 2014. The workshop is designed to teach students how they can apply their military-acquired skills in the civilian sector and prepare for their next career.
Classes run 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and are scheduled for:

March 29: Spring Fling and Family Day: March 29, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Freedom Park. Free lunch will be provided. Sports include kickball, three-on-three basketball, volleyball and bouncy house. Car show and big beats competition with first place teams winning up to $200 in prizes.
March 29: Valley of Fire: March 29, depart Nellis at 9 a.m. and return at approximately 4 p.m. Cost is $20 per person and includes transportation and guided hikes. Bring your own lunch box. Be awed by the beauty of multicolored sandstone formations that were once part of the ocean floor. Follow trails to 3,000 years-old Indian petroglyphs. March 29: Youth Center’s Hiking Spring Mountain Ranch Loop: March 29, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Cost is $10 for youth ages 9 and up with current activity card, or $15 for non-activity card holders. Easy hike at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, passes Boulder Dam Jr. and an electric station on top of the hill with a view of Lake Harriet. On the way back, we will stop and view the Wilson Family Cemetery. Participants must bring a lunch with water, and dress for weather condition.
