Nellis Company Grade Officer’s Council: The Nellis CGOC provides a source of social and professional development for all company grade officers at Nellis. The legal office expands appointment availability: The legal office has expanded its appointment availability to better serve you. Appointments are now available 9-11 a.m., and 1-3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9-11 a.m., Friday. Due to the expanded appointment availability, walk-in hours are no longer available. Air University temporarily suspended: The Air University has temporarily suspended all active duty enrollments in the NCO Academy Distance Learning Academy Distance Learning Course. Active cuty students who were enrolled in the course have been dis-enrolled. The course is open only to reserve and guard members at this time.
Work out group: Work out with the AM-Extreme Group at the Warrior Fitness Center. Classes include: Insanity and Ab Ripper, 5:15-6:20 a.m., Mondays and Fridays in the Cardio Room; P90X, 5:15-6:20 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Cardio Room; and YogaX, 4:40-6:20 a.m., Wednesdays at Racquetball Court three. Transition Assistance Program: The airman and family readiness center has scheduled Transition Assistance Program Workshops for 2014. The workshop is designed to teach students how they can apply their military-acquired skills in the civilian sector and prepare for their next career.

Military Personnel Section new customer service hours: The Military Personnel Section introduced new customer service hours March 31. New customer service walk-in hours will be from 8 a.m. to noon; customers may also be seen by appointment only from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. These changes come in response to an increase in training requirements and a surge in operations that correspond with new force management programs. In addition to that surge, the MPS is simultaneously preparing for vast deployment requirements in support of AEF NEXT. These changes will allow MPS members to provide efficient service to customers as well as improve the overall quality of the customer’s experience during MPS visits. Appointment requests should include the reason for their requested appointment, the name of their counselor if known and any other pertinent information related to their request. May 9: Medical Center closure: Due to a Medical Group training and an official function May 9, the Mike O’Callaghan Federal Medical Center will be closed for normal operations with the exception of the emergency room and inpatient services. All outpatient clinics, including the main pharmacy, satellite pharmacy, laboratory and radiology will be closed for normal operation in support of the exercise.
