WASHINGTON — This week’s update features the latest voluntary and involuntary matrices, officer reduction in force boards, and voluntary separation pay and temporary early retirement authority information in a continued effort to bring Airmen the latest, most accurate information concerning the complex and dynamic force management programs.
Updated matrices now available
Updated voluntary and involuntary matrices are now available on myPers. Based on the number of approved voluntary retirement and separation applications and a review of Air Force mission requirements, officers in 73 Air Force Specialty codes by year group and enlisted Airmen in 61 AFSCs by grade are no longer eligible to apply for voluntary programs and will not meet an involuntary force management board in fiscal year 2014. Since the voluntary programs opened, 143 officer AFSCs and year group combinations and 240 enlisted AFSCs and grade combinations have been removed from involuntary consideration.
The officer and enlisted voluntary matrices, the health professions voluntary matrix and the health professions major and lieutenant colonel enhanced selective early retirement board, or ESERB, matrices are already available on myPers. The enlisted involuntary matrix, the officer Line of the Air Force major ESERB and LAF force shaping board matrices were posted April 22. The health professions updated FSB matrix is being finalized and will be posted next week.
New TERA window open
The new fiscal 2014 force management temporary early retirement authority application window is now open. The window is open from April 15 – May 13 and is for Airmen who were unable to apply during the original application window that ended March 26 due to unwaiverable active-duty service commitments, deployment status or a short tour assignment.
Officer RIF Board
The fiscal 2015 officer reduction in force board is scheduled to convene at the Air Force Personnel Center on Oct. 1. The LAF and health professions RIF matrices are being finalized and are expected to be posted next week.
The established window for TERA closed March 26. AFPC received 4,100 enlisted applications. As of April 18, more than 2,100 applications have been approved with notifications already sent to Airmen. There are no enlisted TERA applications still pending and all Airmen should have been notified. If you have questions, contact the Total Force Service Center.
AFPC received more than 1,000 officer TERA applications. As of April 18, more than 350 applications have been approved with notifications already sent. Approximately 100 applications are still being processed.
Officer and enlisted voluntary separation pay
AFPC has received more than 1,200 officer and 6,800 enlisted applications. Even though the VSP window does not close until May 1, more than 340 officer and approximately 2,400 enlisted VSP applications have been approved as of Apr. 18. AFPC will continue to process applications in all eligible AFSCs, enlisted grades and officer year groups.
Updates to information on force management and other personnel programs will continue to be available on myPers. Airmen can use the new force management graphic on the Air Force Portal which will take them directly to updated matrices and force management program details.
