Celebrating America’s Birthday

Brig. Gen. Jeannie Leavitt, 57th Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Leavitt and Drinkard were parade marshals with more than 30,000 residents lining the streets to watch the parade and celebrate America’s birthday.

Airmen and their families gathered for Freedom Fest at the Warrior Fitness Center on Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., July 1. Several Airmen participated in a boat race where their respective squadrons were given duct tape and cardboard to build a boat and race it across the length of the fitness center pool.

Airmen from the 57th Wing ride on a patriotic float at the Summerlin Council’s 22nd Annual Patriotic Parade in Las Vegs, Nev. July 4. The one-mile parade traveled along flag-lined streets from Hillpointe Road and Hills Center south to Hills Center Drive concluding on Trailwood Drive at the entrance of the Trails Village Shopping Center.
