First F-35A operational weapons load crew qualified

Racing against the clock and with leadership’s eyes watching, three Airmen with the 58th Aircraft Maintenance Unit loaded training munitions onto an F-35A Lightning II during a qualification load here, Oct. 10, officially becoming the first qualified operational weapons load crew for the F-35A.

ACC successfully completes BlackBerry to Apple migration

Earlier this year, Air Force Space Command announced an Air Force desire to migrate from Blackberry devices to a secure smart phone solution for the Air Force. Air Combat Command led the way and has now successfully migrated 100 percent of its 3,500-plus BlackBerry users to Apple [iOS] devices.

57th OSS integrates new ATC radar system

Over the last month, the Nellis Air Traffic Control facility activated a new radar system called the Standard Terminal Automation Modernization Replacement System, or STARS, to replace capacity-constrained, older technology systems.

Nevada steroid treatments free from fungal meningitis

Nellis medical officials confirm that the Mike O’ Callaghan Federal Medical Center, serving local active-duty military personnel, their families and retirees, did not receive any contaminated steroids reported recently to have caused meningitis in patients across the nation.
