Foundation hosing Excellence in Aviation awards

The Flight Test Historical Foundation’s Excellence in Aviation awards are slated for 6 p.m., May 19.

The dinner and silent auction fund raiser honorees are Dr.Buzz Aldrin and Maj.Gen. Joe Engle for Excellence in Space. Delford M. Smith for Excellence in Aviation Business. Col. Joe Kittinger for Excellence in Aviation; and Dr. James O. Young and David Hartman, as Friends of the Foundation.

The foundation is raising funds for the relocation of the Air Force Flight Test Center Museum at the Rosamond West Gate of Edwards Air Force Base. This will accommodate access to the public without having to receive permission to enter the base.

Entertainment will be provided by Barbara Morrison and her Morrison Jazz Quartet.
