Planes of Fame Air Museum hosts air show

Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, Calif., in conjunction with the County of San Bernardino, presents its annual air show – Air Show 2012: Turning the Tide, May 5-6.

This year’s air show will feature more than 40 historic aircraft performing as well as a salute to 1942, when U.S. military forces began turning the tide of World War II.

Along with the flying and static displays, panel discussions will feature veterans.

The P-38 National Association will host P-38 Lightning pilots, and Lt. Col. Hank “Hog” Griffiths and Lt. Col. George “Boxer” Schwartz, both F-35 pilots from Edwards Air Force Base will be on hand

This year, the air show will also host NASA’s Driven to Explore multi-media exhibit. Visitors will learn about space exploration through imagery and audio and visual technology and have an out-of-this-world opportunity to touch a 3 billion-year-old moon rock.

General admission is $20 for adults and children over 12, $5 for children 5-11, and free for children under 5.

Grandstand seating is available for $10 but does not include general admission.
