Petty Officer 3rd Class Andrew Richard faces away from targets during live-fire training aboard USS Pearl Harbor May 8. Richard hails from Lancaster, Calif., and serves as a corpsman with Battalion Landing Team 3/1, the ground combat element for the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The unit embarked the ship, as well as USS Makin Island and USS New Orleans in San Diego Nov. 14, beginning a seven-month deployment to the Western Pacific, Horn of Africa and Middle East regions.
