Old Crows host ‘arming the spectrum warrior’ symposium

The Association of Old Crows host the 49th Annual AOC International Symposium & Convention in Phoenix, Ariz.

Themed, “Arming the Spectrum Warrior,” this event held at the Phoenix Convention Center Sept. 23-26, brings together experts in the fields of electronic warfare, offensive cyber operations and information operations.

These experts provide insight and facilitate professional discussions that allow attendees and presenters to advance the discipline of electromagnetic spectrum warfare. The convention reaches out to young professionals to showcase EMS professions and provide mentorship to advance EMS enabling careers.

Spanning four days, the symposium features hours of informative EW and IO briefings from the leading military and industry experts charged with implementing EW operations in evolving combat environments. Presentations address future EMS threats, needs and technologies, management techniques to facilitate military operations in an increasingly contested EMS environment, as well as means of integrating and coordinating Spectrum Management, EW and IO, and problems related to and opportunities arising from international EW collaboration.

Additionally, the conference examines the impact of the mobile computing revolution on EMS operations, intelligence data requirements for next generation platforms and conflicts, policies and processes to improve EW system life cycle value, and EW standardization across services.

Keynote speakers include: Deputy Commanding General, Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Lt. Gen. David D. Halverson; Director of Global Operations for U.S. Strategic Command, Maj. Gen. Gregory A. Biscone; Joint Staff’s Reserve Deputy Director for Joint and Coalition Warfighting, Rear Adm. Scott E. Sanders; Fellow and Chief Scientist of the IBM Analytics Group, Jeff Jonas; and Former Director of Research of the National Security Agency, Dr. Eric Haseltine.

Attendance at this event is vital for those involved in the design, development, testing, evaluation employment and policy development of electronic warfare systems and for those “young” crows interested in gaining an understanding of the dynamic world of spectrum warfare.
