TeleCommunication Systems Torrance facility receives AS9100C certification

TeleCommunication Systems, Inc., a world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, announced Aug. 14 its Torrance, Calif., facility has received the prestigious AS9100C quality certificate from the National Quality Association.

As part of TCS’ Government Solutions Group, the Space & Component Technology Division manufactures rugged solid-state drives, performs parts management for spacecraft and launch vehicles and is a full-service provider of integrated launch tracking, telemetry and command solutions.

Tier-1 aerospace companies, who are prime customers for the products and services provided by the Torrance facility, demand that their supply chains pay close attention to customer/regulatory compliance, product traceability, configuration management and other key criteria regarding the quality and safety assurances involved in supplying highly reliable aerospace products and services – all elements reviewed in TCS’ AS9100C certification. The AS9100C certification demonstrates TCS’ focus on, and commitment to the highest level of quality process control for each business and production process. The AS9100C auditor also received first-hand evidence of TCS’ quality improvement processes, demonstrating a commitment to increasing its existing high-quality standards.

“Receiving the AS9100C certification shows that TCS is committed to manufacturing reliable aerospace components in a facility that meets some of the most rigorous quality standards in the world,” said Bill Bettencourt, vice president, of TCS’ Space & Component Technology Division, Government Solutions Group. “TCS’ customers can trust that they will receive top-of-the-line components, and the staff of the Torrance facility has received a tremendous affirmation that they are among the best in the world at what they do.”
