Northrop Grumman names VO of Space, Missile Defense, Advanced Technology and Ground Programs


Northrop Grumman has named Ginger Wierzbanowski vice president of space, missile defense, advanced technology and ground programs, effective today.

Wierzbanowski will report to Sid Ashworth, corporate vice president of government relations. She replaces John R. Landon, who is retiring from the company at the end of the year.

“Ginger brings to this role broad expertise in both domestic and international space and defense policy and military intelligence,” said Ashworth. “Her private sector, civil service and military experience is well aligned for her new role. We look forward to Ginger’s continued contributions to our company.”

Wierzbanowski joined Northrop Grumman in 2011 as the vice president of government relations, special projects within the company’s government relations organization. Previously, she was legislative assistant to the vice chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, where she had served since 2008. Prior to that, she held management and planning roles in advanced research, technology and intelligence for the Boeing Company and SAIC.

Earlier, Wierzbanowski completed a 20-year career with the U.S. Air Force, where she was chief of the Intelligence Applications division at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center and chief of the Intelligence, Plans and Programs Division at the Air Force Special Operations Command. She also served at Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers Europe and at the headquarters of the U.S. Air Force Europe.
