Defense contractor relocating to Albuquerque
Defense contractor Air USA is moving is corporate headquarters to New Mexico.
Company officials joined Gov. Susana Martinez and Mayor Richard Berry Sept. 12 to announce they are moving from Quincy, Ill., to Albuquerque.
The company provides fighter jets and support teams for military training missions. It is expected to employ up to 200 people, primarily U.S. military veterans with fighter squadron experience. The company said it will also be looking for accountants, contracts experts and proposal writers.
Martinez says the company complements New Mexico’s existing workforce and infrastructure.
In addition to 200 direct jobs, she says the state will benefit from hosting the numerous military units that will travel to New Mexico to train with Air USA’s fleet. AP
