Boeing to demonstrate new, enduring capabilities 2012 AFA conference

Boeing will highlight a range of proven and affordable solutions for U.S. Air Force needs during the Air Force Association Air and Space Conference & Technology Exposition Sept. 17-19 at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center, National Harbor, Md.

“The annual AFA conference gives us an opportunity to hear from airmen about ways to improve our products and services to meet their evolving needs,” said Jack Catton, Boeing Government Operations vice president of Combat Air Force Systems.

Boeing will present aircraft solutions including the KC-46 tanker and enhanced F-15; space solutions including the Inmarsat hosted payloads and the Family of Advanced Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T); support solutions including the KC-46 Aircrew Training System and the C-130 Avionics Modernization Program; and future solutions such as the Phantom Eye unmanned airborne system and the Blended Wing Body concept.

Visitors also can experience interactive technology demonstrations and advanced flight simulators in the KC-46 Aerial Refueling Trailer and the Family of Systems Trailer.

In addition, Boeing will highlight its cross-domain solutions, integrated suites of secure, efficient information-sharing capabilities that are part of Boeing’s C4ISR situational awareness portfolio.

During the Air Force Anniversary dinner on Sept. 19, Boeing will receive the 2012 John R. Alison Award for outstanding contributions by industrial leadership in national defense. The award recognizes Boeing’s technical excellence in the development of the Global Positioning System, Wideband Global SATCOM and the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle.
