Aerojet, a GenCorp company, announced Oct. 16 that its Sacramento, Calif., headquarters has achieved two million work hours without a lost-time injury.
Aerojet’s Sacramento site reached the milestone Sept. 26.
“To achieve this injury-free milestone takes not only an individual, but team effort, throughout our entire facility,” said Bob Werling, vice president of Sacramento operations. “As an organization, we are committed to safety in all aspects of the workplace. This milestone speaks to continued vigilance and personal responsibility for everyone making safety their number one priority. Employees are involved in all aspects of safety and injury prevention – from hazard assessments to standard operating procedures. Working safely is an essential part of our job.”
Adherence to safety, not just in the workplace but throughout all facets of employees’ lives, is the number one priority throughout all of Aerojet’s business practices. The commitment extends from executive leadership to the craftspeople building Aerojet’s products and to those who maintain the company’s facilities throughout the United States.
