California Aircraft maintenance provider creates jobs in San Bernardino

Aviation & Defense, Inc., a maintenance, repair and overhaul company headquartered in Southern California at the San Bernardino International Airport, has succeeded in building a sustainable business model to create jobs in this uncertain economy.

Leveraging 25 years of leadership and experience in the aviation industry coupled with the latest MRO technology, ADI has built a substantial maintenance business delivering consistent services that will keep clients satisfied and coming back to San Bernadino for years to come (current clients include Virgin America, Spirit Airlines, Fry’s Electronics, Orbital Science and Venetian). This translates into a steadily growing, long term, stable employment picture that will boost the local economy.

“ADI’s ownership has invested heavily into our business model to create a state of the art MRO facility that is highly attractive to a large portion of ADI’s prospective customer base,” said Mike Scanlon, ADI’s president. “These clients value trust, transparency and competitive pricing. To meet this need, we have created proprietary hardware and equipment married to cutting edge software that will revolutionize how maintenance services are performed. ADI has created more than 150 jobs since January 2012 and anticipates hiring an additional 100 employees by the end of December 2013. With the available hanger capacity at SBD, ADI can grow to 800 employees by 2015 to meet the expected growth in the industry. Today’s $40 billion MRO market for commercial aircraft is forecast to reach $58 billion by 2016.
