Science Applications International Corporation announced Nov. 29 it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Army Acquisition Center- Aberdeen Proving Ground to provide software engineering and scientific support services to the Software Engineering Center, Communications Electronics Command.
The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a two-year base period of performance, one two-year option, one one-year option, and a total contract value of $7 billion for all awardees, if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., Fort Lee, Va., Fort Sill, Okla., Fort Hood, Texas, and Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
The SEC is the Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Integrated Software Management Center, providing post deployment software support and post production software support for deployed C4ISR, business and enterprise information systems, and timely direct software support to the warfighter during combat operations, contingencies and exercises.
Under the contract, SAIC will provide the SEC with full life-cycle software engineering and sustainment; field support, training and other services for PDSS/PPSS, C4ISR, logistics, business and enterprise resource planning systems; information technology infrastructure support including acquisition support, technical support, and software and application development. SAIC’s mission will be to maintain system’s minimum essential war fighting capability and to sustain the operational readiness of fielded systems. SAIC will support the SEC in sustaining Army/Joint interoperability, supporting architecture products, protocols, standards and tools, providing information security and assurance services, and providing replication, distribution, installation and training. SAIC is one of 12 contractors eligible to compete for task orders under this contract.
