FRC East delivers first Italian AV-8

Bauman, Fleet Readiness Center East Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., stands with the first Italian Navy AV-8 to undergo planned maintenance and modification work at the facility. FRC East recently completed the extensive aircraft upgrades in 201 daysó19 days earlier than projected and more than $275,000 under estimated costs. Rear Adm. Paolo Treu, Commander of Italian Naval Aviation, expressed his thanks to FRC East, writing, ìPlease convey my deepest admiration and appreciation to your ëartisansíÖ they did a fantastic job.î The next Italian Harrier to be modified should arrive at FRC East by early January 2013.
