MoD unveils third round of Army job cuts 

The [British] Ministry of Defence has announced a third round of Army redundancies. Up to 5,300 job losses were outlined by the government. These are part of cuts already announced to reduce Army numbers from 102,000 to 82,000 by 2017.

British Army to fire another 5,300 soldiers amid warnings about the impact of cuts on Britain’s military might 

Up to 5,300 soldiers are to be axed in the latest round of Army job cuts ordered by the government. Defense Secretary Philip Hammond revealed details of the losses with a warning that medics from the Navy and Air Force will be axed later rounds of redundancies.

It has been revealed the Japanese firm which makes the lithium ion batteries for the troubled Boeing 787 Dreamliner also has a contract to supply batteries to the International Space Station.

The UK Space Agency (UKSA) has promoted its director of space science into the position of chief executive. Dr. David Parker takes the top job at a time when British orbital activity is experiencing a great renaissance.

Stolen Valor Act, take 2 – Congress should pass revised law that makes it a crime to lie about military honors for financial gain

After the U.S. Supreme Court declared the Stolen Valor Act unconstitutional under the First Amendment, it left the door open to liars and frauds who sought gain from their falsehoods. A new and improved act shuts that door by making it a crime to lie about military honors when there is “intent to defraud.”
