Pratt & Whitney finds engine-test fraud at sibling plant

United Technologies Corp. Pratt & Whitney jet engine unit has found that another United Tech unit fraudulently tested parts of engines for business jets to reduce the odds of further monitoring, Pratt said March 4.

Rolls-Royce paid no U.K. corporation tax in 2012

International engine builder Rolls-Royce did not pay any corporation tax in the United Kingdom in 2012, its annual report has revealed. The firm, which employs 12,000 people in Derby, England, reported a record year for profits but paid nothing to the treasury and received £3 million in credit.

The U.S. military is planning to use fleets of small ships as platforms for unmanned aircraft to land and take off. The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency said it needed to increase its airborne “surveillance and reconnaissance.
