Royal Navy pilot flies first F-35 sortie

U.K. pilot, Lt. Cmdr. Ian Tidball, became the first Royal Navy student-pilot to fly a sortie in the F-35B Lightning II April 10 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Tidball has flight experience in the British Sea Harrier and the F-18 Super Hornet.

Ian Tidball, became the first Royal Navy student-pilot to fly the sortie. He touched down after a successful training sortie. Tidball has flight experience in the British Sea Harrier and the F-18 Super Hornet.
