SAIC awarded NASA Glenn support contract

Science Applications International Corporation has been awarded a prime contract by NASA to provide safety, health, environmental and mission assurance services at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and the Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio.

The single-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a 19-month base period of performance, three 12-month options, one five-month option, and a total contract value of $56 million, if all options are exercised.

NASA’s Glenn Research Center researches, designs, develops and tests innovative technology for aeronautics and spaceflight.

Under the contract, SAIC will provide program development, implementation, compliance assurance, and verification support to ensure the Glenn Research Center is in compliance with NASA policies and federal regulations in operational safety, occupational health, energy and environmental, and aeronautics and space systems mission assurance activities.

SAIC subject matter experts will augment NASA’s existing programs and support the planning and implementation of work associated with industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, project management, chemical management, waste management, chemical sampling and analysis, safety, quality assurance, health physics, and related areas.

“This contract award represents the continuation of more than 15 years of SAIC support to the NASA Glenn Research Center,” said James R. Moos, SAIC senior vice president and group general manager. “We’re excited to continue to provide support to Glenn Research Center, assuring mission success in all areas, including safety, health, energy and the environment.”
