Jim Maser named GenCorp head of corporate strategy , development

GenCorp Inc., headquartered in Sacramento, Calif., has announced the ppointment of Jim Maser as vice president for Corporate Strategy and Development for the company. Reporting to GenCorp’s President and CEO Scott Seymour, Maser will focus on the growth of GenCorp’s business base and shareholder value.

“We are very fortunate to have Jim Maser lead our corporate strategy efforts at this critical point in the future of GenCorp,” said Seymour. “Jim brings to this new role a wealth of proven performance and excellence in understanding the needs of demanding government and industry customers around the world and providing them with world-class products and services.”

A long-time leader in the aerospace industry, Maser assumes his new role after serving as President of Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne from 2006-2013. As the organization’s leader, he led the design, manufacturing and performance of power and propulsion systems for America’s most critical launch and space systems.

Prior to serving as PWR’s president, Maser was the president and general manager of the Sea Launch Company, and president and chief operating officer for Space Exploration Technologies. Maser has a strong background as an aerospace engineer with extensive experience in program management, design and engineering leadership.

Maser graduated magna cum laude from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering. He later received a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles. In 2000, the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics honored Maser with its George M. Low Space Transportation Award.
