Lockheed Martin to deliver communications, transmission services To U.S. Army

The U.S. Army will soon be using satellite and terrestrial communications capabilities delivered in part by Lockheed Martin to support battlefield operations around the globe.

Lockheed Martin was awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to supply communications and transmissions systems to the U.S. Army’s Project Manager of Defense Communications and Army Transmissions Systems. Under this contract with a ceiling of $4.1 billion, Lockheed Martin will compete for task orders to provide communications and transmission systems to meet the Army’s challenge of affordably adapting to changing technology while significantly reducing energy usage. †All task orders must be initiated within the†contract’s five-year period of performance.

With extensive knowledge of the communications arena, Lockheed Martin has long developed solutions that leverage sophisticated satellite, wireless and tactical radio technology to provide soldiers with enhanced situational awareness and assured network connectivity. Working with customers domestically and internationally, Lockheed Martin has regularly demonstrated capabilities that, both through the network and the voice and data services layer, support full spectrum operations anywhere, anytime on the battlefield.

Lockheed Martin is partnering with a group of subcontractors and small businesses including Globecomm, Inmarsat Government-US and Hughes Network Systems, who each provide specific communications infrastructure capabilities critical to the PM DCATS mission.
