What to do if you find unexploded ordnance

Remember the 3Rs of unexploded ordnance: Recognize it, retreat and report it. Hazardous UXO comes in all shapes and sizes. All UXO should be treated as hazardous.  Do not touch it.  Soldiers should inform their children and spouses that UXO, including simulators, can be found in the cantonment area. If something is found by a family member, have them call the MPs or find the nearest adult. Soldiers who find UXO in the training area should immediately notify their Chain of Command using the 9-line UXO Report, and clear out of the area. If you are unsure if item is a UXO, treat it as hazardous. Serious injuries have occurred by misidentifying items. If your unit would like to arrange a UXO class, please contact the 759th EOD Company at 380-4092.
