Beginning January, AER added four new categories of assistance: family member dental care, basic furniture requirements, rental vehicles and replacement vehicles. These additions were made to meet the changing needs of today’s Soldiers and families. Based on feedback from AER officers worldwide, nine new categories have been added in the last two years.  Also, Headquarters AER recently created a Facebook page which provides information. This site also allows for questions and comments. You can find it at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Army-Emergency-Relief-Headquarters/307269482634371. As an active-duty Soldier, retired Soldier or family member, you can obtain information about AER. By “liking” this page, you can provide feedback and obtain information of value to you. The Fort Irwin 2012 AER campaign started March 1 and will end May 15. Now is the time to seek out your AER key workers so you can donate to this great program. As of March 16, Fort Irwin’s total donations were $6,111 with 211 donors. In 2011, Fort Irwin AER gave $1.01 million to 955 Soldiers and families. Please make a difference in this program by donating. This is your program”¦the Soldiers’ Program. Contact our Fort Irwin 2012 AER Coordinators: Capt.
