Vietnam-era veterans welcome home
Fort Irwin will hold its third annual Vietnam-era veterans welcome home ceremony on Wednesday.Ã‚Â Events will kick off with a motorcycle parade through the installation at 10 a.m., with veterans and Soldiers riding down Fort Irwin Road, Barstow Road, Normandy Road, and Langford Lake Road to end at Army Field.Ã‚Â The welcome home ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at Army Field.Ã‚Â The guest speaker will be Chief Warrant Officer 5 John Harris, a Huey helicopter pilot and Vietnam veteran who is still serving in the Army.Ã‚Â Static displays and information booths will be available at Army Field until 3 p.m.Ã‚Â For more information, call 380-6372.
Tiefort shuttle service
Through April 30, a pilot bus service will run to and around all major commands on Fort Irwin.Ã‚Â The service is available to all who live and work on Fort Irwin and will operate every 15 minutes from 7:45 a.m. through 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.Ã‚Â The Post Taxi Service will be suspended during this period.
International spouse support groupÃ‚Â
There will be a meeting of the Relocation Readiness International Spouse Support Group from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday at the Crackerjack Flats Neighborhood Center.Ã‚Â All foreign-born spouses are welcome.Ã‚Â The goal of the group is to provide an informal gathering where spouses can share information, discuss issues related to living in America and adjusting to the military, and meet others in a similar situation.Ã‚Â For more information or to register, call Maritza Ramirez at 380-3598 or email Maritza.email@example.com.
