Paul Barnes receives an award from Col. Kurt Pinkerton, Garrison commander, after completing the sixth annual Tour de Irwin bicycle race April 7. Barnes, a retired chief warrant officer, returned to the race this year after a fall during last year’s race nearly ended his life.

Wally, who is training for an Ironman triathlon, came in at 2:02:07 before taking off on a second loop around the course and then jogging five-and-a-half miles on Goldstone Road.
