Garrison Dining Facility 1 (Building 254) is staffed and operated by Soldiers from the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment and 916th Support Brigade and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The building is near the Garrison Headquarters and the NCO barracks. The facility is open to all who are serving, working or just visiting Fort Irwin and the National Training Center. Meals are “a la carte†and purchases can only be made with cash; servicemembers can use their meal cards. Prices for a meal average between $3 and $5, making it a great deal. Gather your friends, battle buddies or co-workers and head to DFAC 1 for a satisfying meal in a great setting. Every Thursday, for lunch, enjoy soul food meals such as fried cat fish, barbecue chicken, baked chicken and barbecue ribs. Side dishes include coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, rice, and collard greens.
