Lead 6 Sends

Brig. Gen. Terry Ferrell

For 237 years this great Army of ours, made up of incredible individuals like yourselves, and your Families, has faithfully defended our shores and our way of living.  In this edition of “Lead 6 Sends,” I humbly ask that you join this great High Desert family of Fort Irwin and the National Training Center in formally celebrating the Army’s 237th Birthday.

Please take the time to make this day a little more special and join us at one of our dining facilities for a holiday meal beginning at 11:30 a.m. on 14 June.  Afterwards, you are all welcome to a special opening of the Fort Irwin Museum to pay homage and respect to our illustrious past.  Besides the historical displays offered daily at the museum, there will be current military vehicles in static displays and Soldiers in historic uniforms.

In closing, I am not only humbled by the effort that went into making this a special day for you, but also the simple fact that I am a member of an incredible team and profession that can celebrate 237 years of honorable service with pride.

TRAIN THE FORCE!
