BOSS Cali Swag Car Show
The Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program will host the second annual Cali Swag Car Show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Coyote Activity Center.Â There will be product giveaways, photo ops with the military show vehicles First Responder Silverado and American Pride Camero, video games, a three-on-three basketball tournament, skateboard tournament, and of course lots of cars!Â The “Wild Thang” 1931 Chevrolet coupe that shoots fire will be here, too!Â Cars will be judged in 16 categories, with prizes for first, second, and third place.Â Awards ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m.Â All are welcome to attend.Â Admission is free.Â Car entry fee is $15 in advance or $20 the day of the event.Â For more information, call 760-267-1726 or visit www.fortirwinfmwr.com.
The NTC has a TV station!
Did you know that the NTC and Fort Irwin have their very own television station?Â You can tune in to channel 29 on Verizon-served TVs or channel 18 on MDU-served TVs to watch original programming all about the National Training Center and Fort Irwin.Â NTC-TV is also seeking volunteers interested in all aspects of video production.Â No experience is necessary.Â For more information, call Ken Drylie at 380-2452 or email Kenneth.email@example.com.
Changes of command
Several Fort Irwin units will be changing leadership this week.Â There will be a change of command ceremony between outgoing Operations Group commander Col. Tobin Green and incoming commander Col. Paul Calvert at 8 a.m. Monday in front of the Operations Group headquarters, Bldg. 990.Â A section of the parking lot will be reserved for ceremony guests.Â It is recommended that personnel find other places to park prior to and during the ceremony.Â All are welcome to attend. There will be a change of command ceremony between outgoing 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment commander Col. Antonio Aguto and incoming commander Col. John Ward at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Fritz Field.Â All are welcome. There will be a relinquishment of command ceremony for both the 1916th Support Battalion and the 916th Support Brigade at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Fort Irwin helipad.Â All are welcome to attend.
