Where do you volunteer?

I am a youth volunteer at the Blackhorse Museum.

What you do as a volunteer?

I greet guests of the museum and help give tours and answer questions about the exhibits. I also help run our youth group meetings.

What you get out of volunteering?

I get the satisfaction of helping others learn about the rich history behind Fort Irwin and the units who have been stationed here.

How did you get started as a volunteer?

My dad is a volunteer in the Red Cross office and I thought it would be exciting to try something new.

What advice would you give someone about volunteering?

It is more fun than some may think. If you want to feel good about yourself and have the satisfaction of knowing that you contribute to your community and help support the Red Cross and the military go to the Red Cross Bldg. 566 and find out what opportunity awaits you.
