School starts today

Today is the first day of school for Silver Valley Unified School District. Please be aware of increased traffic around Fort Irwin’s schools. Following is a schedule of back-to-school events:

 

Fort Irwin Middle School

  • 8/9 – 7:50 Alphabetized grade-level posters in place with Homeroom Assignments
  • 8/9 – 8:15-8:35 In Homerooms, Greet Kids, Get Schedules, PBIS and Assembly Guidelines
  • 8/9 – PBIS Assembly for Students 8:35-9:35 (approx. times)
  • 8/9 – In Homerooms, Review Assembly Info and School wide Matrix
  • 8/10/12 and 8/13/12 – PBIS Rotations (school area explicit teaching of expected behaviors)
  • 8/14-8/16 – In Homerooms, Students work on PBIS Skits
  • 8/14 – School Site Council Meeting (All Parents Invited) 3:30-5:00
  • 8/15 – 4:30 Previously scheduled back to School Night and Teacher Meet and Greet moved to August 30, same time, 4:30.
  • 8/16 – Character vs bullying grade level assemblies
  • 8/17 – PBIS Skits Presented in Gym
  • 8/17 – Celebrating Success Ceremony in Gym (if we have our state CST scores)
  • 8/30 4:30 – Back to School Night and Teacher Meet and Greet

 

Tiefort View Intermediate School

  • 8/10 – PBIS Implementation Assembly
  • 8/28 – Back to School Night

 

Silver Valley High School

  • 8/29 Back to School Night

 

Fort Irwin N.O.W.

Fort Irwin N.O.W., or newcomers’ orientation welcome, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Sandy Basin Community Center. This monthly event provides information to those new to Fort Irwin about everything the community has to offer. Free child care is available with advanced registration. An optional bus tour will take place following the event. For more information or to register, call 380-3598.
