Troopers from the Supply and Transportation Troop, Regimental Support Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment and their families conducted physical training at Fort Irwin July 23. The S and T Troop Family Readiness Group decided to hold a family physical training day in order to promote family bonding.

The event was planned and coordinated by the S and T Troop command team of Capt. Rhonda M. Booth, 1st Sgt. Jeffery Clark and transportation platoon leader 2nd Lt. Evan FitzGerald. Troopers were encouraged to bring their families to enjoy the fun. More than 40 spouses and children attended the event.

Their day began at 6:30 a.m. in front of S and T Troop’s offices, where troopers and family members conducted stretching and warm-up exercises. They marched and sang cadences on the way to Fritz Field.

Spc. Larry Le led Preparation Drill One from the Physical Readiness Training manual, which consists of bend-and-reaches, rear lunges, high-jumpers, rowers, squat benders, windmills, forward lunges, prone rows, bent-leg body twists, and pushups. Afterwards, troopers and their family members were split into two groups to take part in a relay race and tug-of-war. Numerous troopers enjoyed going to PT with their families.
