Army Campaign

“A Healthy Force is a Ready Force”

September 2012 is recognized by the Army as Suicide Prevention Month. The campaign emphasizes Total Force awareness of Health Promotion, Risk Reduction, Suicide Prevention (HPRRSP) and Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness (CSF2) resources that are available to promote the resilience of Soldiers, Family members and Army Civilians. Information about this year’s theme can be obtained from the Army Suicide Prevention Program G1 website at www.armyg1.army.mil/hr/suicide/.

Your Installation

National Hispanic Heritage Month is observed Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. Celebrate the observance at Sandy Basin Community Center at 11 a.m., Sept. 19. The Los Angeles Ballroom Academy will be performing dances from Latin America and there will be cultural food sampling.

Community Relations

The Community Military Mixer takes place at Sandy Basin Community Center at 6 p.m., Sept. 26. The event unites local community leaders and residents of the Barstow area, the Veterans Home, Fort Irwin and Marine Corps Logistics Base.
