Community Calendar

The following events are displayed in the Community Calendar at www.irwin.army.mil. Check out the calendar online to view many more events for the month of September.

TODAY

  • Fort Irwin Job Fair. 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Sandy Basin Community Center. Open to the public. Dress appropriately and bring copies of your resume. Employment Readiness Program, 380-5165.

TOMORROW

  • Money Management Class. 1 – 3 p.m. Reception Campus, building 109. Instruction on saving money, investments and consumers rights, and how to live within your means. Financial Readiness Program, 380-9194.

SATURDAY

  • “Run for Your Life” 5k/10k run and walk. 8 – 10 a.m. Coyote Activity Center. Register at Memorial or Freedom Fitness Centers and Coyote Activity Center. Pre-registration, $3; day of race, $5. Coyote Activity Center, 380-7240 or 380-7242.

SUNDAY

  • NFL Football Sunday Ticket Enjoy exclusive food and drink specials during the games. Shock Wave, 380-8646

MONDAY.

  • Monday Madness. Begins at 6 p.m. Strike Zone Bowling Center. Bowling games, shoe rental, hot dogs and more for $1. Strike Zone, 380-4249.

TUESDAY

  • International Spouses Support Group. 10 a.m. to noon. Sleepy Hollow Community Center. Bringing together foreign-born spouses for an informal gathering. At this meeting, “ceviche” (a Mexican seafood dish) made from shrimp will be prepared. Ceviche includes diced onions, tomatoes and cilantro, and “cooked” with limes; will be served with tortilla chips. All ingredients will be provided. Relocation Readiness Program, 380-3598.

WEDNESDAY

  • DeVry University visit. 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Education Center, building 1020. Derrick Jackson of DeVry University will be visiting to provide out information and answer questions. Education Center, 380-4218.
