New Army Child & Youth Fee Policy implemented

DeBorah J. Harris
Acting Coordinator for Child Youth & School Services

On Oct. 1, the Army Child & Youth Fee Policy for fiscal year 2012-13 was implemented for Child Development Centers, School Age Care, Middle School & Teen Programs, SKIES Unlimited Instructional Programs, Youth Sports & Fitness, and Army Community Based Programs.

New Family Child Care fees will be implemented on Nov. 1. Ten percent will be discounted from FCC fees and when applicable, FCC patrons are authorized a 15 percent multiple child discount.

The fee policy is based on Department of Defense policy and will be implemented for installation-operated CYSS programs. By law, military child care fees are based on total family income, not military rank or civilian grade. Military services subsidize fees on a sliding scale for families regardless of rank, grade or income.

The Army Child & Youth Fee Policy began transitioning to single child care fees for each TFI category in school year 2010-11, with a three-year individualized phase plan for each installation. The Army’s school year 2012-13 planned target fees were adjusted to comply with updated DoD fees and fee ranges.

If you have questions, call the FCC Director at 380-2267 or call me at 380-2268.

Get a refund for gasoline taxes

The California gasoline tax refund could save you hundreds of dollars every year. In order to maintain California’s many highways, the state taxes every gallon of fuel that you put into your car (even gas purchased on post). This is reasonable, because we all know what it is like to drive on poorly maintained roads,...
