Don’t do it

Offenses ranging from disrespecting a commissioned officer to providing alcohol to an underage Soldier punished under Uniformed Code of Military Justice

During September, several Soldiers stationed at the National Training Center and Fort Irwin were found guilty of offenses under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and received non-judicial punishment following Article 15 proceedings.

A staff sergeant was reduced in pay grade to E-5 for an Article 89 offense of disrespect to a commissioned officer and for an Article 90 offense of willfully disobeying a commissioned officer. The sergeant’s punishment also included forfeiture of $1,331 in pay for two months, 45 days of restriction and 45 days of extra duty.

A Soldier in the rank of specialist was convicted of an Article 92 offense for drunk and disorderly conduct. The Soldier’s punishment: a reduction in pay grade to E-3 and forfeiture of $435 in pay for one month.

A private first class was reduced in pay grade to E-1 a result of an Article 112a offense for marijuana use. Additional punishment the Soldier incurred: forfeiture of $745 in pay for two months; 45 days of restriction, and; 45 days of extra duty.

An Article 92 was imposed on a private first class for underage drinking. The Soldier’s punishment included a reduction in pay grade to E-2, forfeiture of $389 in pay for one month, 14 days restriction, and an oral reprimand.

Providing alcohol to an underage Soldier resulted in a private first class receiving an Article 92. The Soldier also received an Article 107 for giving a false official statement. The punishment: reduction in pay grade to E-1, forfeiture in $745 in pay for two months, 45 days of restriction, and 45 days of extra duty.
