Generous Community

FedsFeedFamilies

The Feds Feed Families campaign on Fort Irwin concluded with a donation of food totaling almost 15,000 pounds to several programs that help community members of Barstow, Calif. The Fort Irwin Commissary, directed by Cynthia Hernandez, loaded onto a delivery truck and van: canned food, dried food items, watermelons, potatoes and bottled water for the Desert Manna food pantry, the Barstow Veterans Home, and two senior citizen homes in Barstow. Customers of the Commissary bought vouchers that went to the purchasing of the food. Also, several major food companies made donations towards the final total.
