Avoid being a No Show

“No Shows” are missed medical appointments that may negatively impact your ability to access health care here.

A No Show is defined as an appointment that is scheduled, but not cancelled or honored by the patient. A No Show is a lost opportunity to provide healthcare services to you and to another patient, who could have booked into the missed appointment. No Shows hinder our ability to meet access to care standards and your expectations.

During fiscal year 2013, Weed Army Community Hospital had 2,744 No Shows, with a potential loss of about $192,000 in earnings. Active duty family members account for nearly half of missed appointments with a total of 1,336.

When presenting for your appointment, we ask you to show up on time. Your appointment may be rescheduled to minimize impact on other patients with scheduled appointments. In the event your schedule changes or you no longer need the appointment, call at least 24 hours in advance to cancel your appointment. This provides opportunities for other patients to book appointments. The Audiocare Reminder System calls you 48 hours in advance, which allows you to confirm or cancel an appointment. By reducing missed appointments, WACH can provide increased care and be able to see patients in a timelier manner. We appreciate your understanding and assistance with helping us to best serve beneficiaries entrusted to our care.

You can also cancel your appointments on www.tricareonline.com. TRICARE Online allows you to book and cancel appointments anytime, and you can use appointment reminder tools such as text messages and emails.
