FORT IRWIN, Calif. — The Villages at Fort Irwin hosted a Back to School celebration with dinner, cotton candy, a delicious, chilled breeze, a radiant full moon, and a Moana-themed pool party, complete with a projector displaying the film in the background.
Nearly 400 individuals attended the event throughout the night on Aug. 17, which lasted from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Sandy Basin Pool.
The Villages Marketing Manager, Cherry Langston described a goal of maintaining positive experiences for resident relations.
“Fort Irwin has the uniqueness and this remoteness, which is an opportunity,” she said. “We want to enhance what is already offered on post through the other organizations. For years, The Villages hosts monthly events of a varying scale for our residents, free of charge. People really want things to do and what we offer is a way to say ‘thank you’ to our residents.” About 350 school supply kits were gifted to the children who came to the event.
