‘Bomber Bob’ Inducted to Patriot Guard Riders

Robert Wood, at 93, needs a little help getting around, but there is a good reason his nickname is "Bomber Bob." During World War II, history's greatest conflict, theretired Edwards Air Force Base engineer survived 35 bombing missions over Nazi Germany, serving as a command pilot on a B-17 Flying Fortress dubbed "Miss Behavin'."

Kramer Junction was originally west of its current location on Highway 58 out by Boron. When the 395 crossed the current 58, the historical four corners became a reality. All that was needed was an owner who could see the potential of this desert crossing to make it flourish. Many of us AV residents have been over these roads many times.

Sample return technology successfully tested on Xodiac rocket

Honeybee Robotics in Pasadena, Calif., flight tested its pneumatic sampler collection system, PlanetVac, on Masten Space Systems’ Xodiac rocket on May 24, launching from Mojave, Calif., and landing to collect a sample of more than 320 grams of top soil from the surface of the desert floor.

T-45 crashes in Texas, pilot ejects safely
