Through our character – an opportunity to reflect on important issues in our community
As stated previously, Templeton Foundation winner and former British Navy serviceman Jean Vanier has a heart for the disabled and those with developmental disabilities. He maintains that “the intellectually-disabled don’t pretend to love others for what they do. That’s their gift to us. They remind us that the Kingdom does not belong to the powerful and efficacious-it belongs, as Jesus told us, to those who are like little children-vulnerable, dependent, and open to the gifts that God has in store for those who don’t pretend otherwise.” So are you a pretender or gift to others?
Through our prayers — an opportunity to pray for the needs of our community
– Pray that God would help you be a gift to others by loving them for who they are.
