The Desert High School girls volleyball team defeated Bakersfield Christian 25-19, 25-19, 18-25, 25-20 at home Nov. 24 to move on to the Southern California Division IV Regional Finals where they lost to Santa Barbara’s Laguna Blanca High School Dec. 1, 2015.
The Desert High School girls volleyball team finished their season with a 28-3 record after falling to Laguna Blanca High School of Santa Barbara in the California Interscholastic Federation State Division 4 Southern Regional Championship match Dec. 1.
The Scorpions lost 25-11, 25-15, 16-25, 25-19 at Westmont College in Santa Barbara.
They were one win away from reaching the state final and the loss marked the end to a 21 match winning streak.
The Scorpions advanced to the regionals by winning their first two state playoff games. It was the first time DHS girls volleyball had won a match in the state playoffs.
