The Desert High School girls volleyball team finished their season with a 28-3 record after falling to Laguna Blanca High School of Santa Barbara in the California Interscholastic Federation State Division 4 Southern Regional Championship match Dec. 1.
The Scorpions lost 25-11, 25-15, 16-25, 25-19 at Westmont College in Santa Barbara.
They were one win away from reaching the state final and the loss marked the end to a 21 match winning streak.
The Scorpions advanced to the regionals by winning their first two state playoff games. It was the first time DHS girls volleyball had won a match in the state playoffs.
