Road work

Phase II of pavement repair on Rosamond Boulevard began began Jan. 5 and will continue through Jan. 15. Once again, traffic will be reduced to one lane each way for a stretch of two miles for approximately two weeks. The speed limit around the construction will be reduced to 45 mph. Drivers should plan accordingly as this will affect traffic using the West Gate. For more information, call 661-275-3509.

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. observance

Join the 412th Test Wing Chapel staff in the lobby of Bldg. 3000 Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. to be inspired by the words of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. Feel free to bring your lunch and a friend.

Resilience class

The next Resilience class is 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Jan. 13 Bldg. 2460, Room A. Those interested in attending should contact Nancy Koch-Castillo at 661-277-6711 or email Attendees will learn 11 life skills through PowerPoint presentations addressing Resilience — the ability to withstand, recover and/or grow in the face of stressors and changing demands — through the four Comprehensive Airman Fitness domains. Resilience information and videos are posted on the front page of the Edwards Portal page.

Motorcycle riders

The next Motorcycle Experienced Rider Course is 6:30 a.m., Jan. 21 at the Edwards AFB Education Office, Bldg. 2453. This course is for motorcyclists requiring refresher training. Per AFI 91-207, this course is required within one year after the Basic Rider Course and every five years thereafter.  Motorcycles are not provided; you must bring your own.  Request the course in “My ETMS” or have your training manager create a requirement for you.  The course code is ERC. The next Motorcycle Basic Rider Course will be held Feb. 16-17.  This course is for motorcyclists requiring initial training. Motorcycles WILL be provided.  Request the course in “My ETMS” with the course code MCSTB. Riders will be notified by the education office if they have made it into the courses.
