Stop the violence, remember the victims!
In observance of Teen Dating Violence Prevention Month, 412th Medical Group Family Advocacy is hosting a Sunset Walk Feb. 17 at 5 p.m. The walk will begin at the fitness center. Teens, parents and the Edwards community are invited to participate. A Teen and Parent Night will also be held Feb. 25 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Ashley Glover of the Kern County Sheriff’s Department will be a guest speaker. The evening’s discussion will address how celebrities, current music and social media influence dating violence.
University of Phoenix
The University of Phoenix is cleared of its probationary status and tuition assistance can be reinstated immediately. If you have any further questions, contact the Education Center at 661-277-2713.
Tax Center
The 2016 Edwards AFB Tax Center will be open through April 14. The tax center will be open 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Anyone eligible for legal assistance under AFI 51-504 is eligible for the tax center’s services. The center is located in Bldg. 7210 at 1100 Kincheloe Ave., near the U.S. Post Office.

Mondays and Wednesdays: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Fridays: 8 a.m. to noon
When you call, you will be told what you will need to bring to your tax center appointment. Walk-ins are welcome; however, appointments take priority and walk-ins will be seen contingent upon the availability of a volunteer preparer.
Oasis Pool open
The Oasis indoor pool at the Oasis Community Center is now open with normal hours of operation. For more information, call 661-277-5727.
Lost and found
From time to time, certain lost items are turned in to 412th Security Forces Squadron. Below is a list of personal property the 412th SFS is holding for the rightful owners to claim. After 45 days, 412th SFS will request through the Base Property Disposal Board to destroy or donate the property. If anyone recognizes any of these items, call 661-277-2826.

3. One gold metal weaved bracelet (jewelry) located Dec. 24, 2014
4. One set of keys containing a Honda key, two gold keys, two silver keys, and one CVS Pharmacy Rewards card; located Aug. 8, 2015
5. One set of keys containing two silver keys and one gold key with OD green key chain attachment located Dec. 18, 2015.
