Stop the violence, remember the victims!
In observance of Teen Dating Violence Prevention Month, 412th Medical Group Family Advocacy is hosting a Sunset Walk Feb. 17 at 5 p.m. The walk will begin at the fitness center. Teens, parents and the Edwards community are invited to participate. A Teen and Parent Night will also be held Feb. 25 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Ashley Glover of the Kern County Sheriff’s Department will be a guest speaker. The evening’s discussion will address how celebrities, current music and social media influence dating violence.
Second Annual Run with History Half Marathon/10K/5K
May 14, runs begin at 7 am
Early Registration: Half — $50, 10K — $35, 5K — $25
Registration after April 1: Half — $60, 10K — $45, 5K — $35
Come out and run where history is made every day! All runs will take place on the historic Edwards AFB Lake Bed and Flight-line. Base gate will open for participants at 5 am. Register at edwardsfss.com!
University of Phoenix
The University of Phoenix is cleared of its probationary status and tuition assistance can be reinstated immediately. If you have any further questions, contact the Education Center at 661-277-2713.
The 2016 Edwards AFB Tax Center will be open through April 14. The tax center will be open 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Anyone eligible for legal assistance under AFI 51-504 is eligible for the tax center’s services. The center is located in Bldg. 7210 at 1100 Kincheloe Ave., near the U.S. Post Office.

Tuesdays and Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Fridays: 8 a.m. to noon
When you call, you will be told what you will need to bring to your tax center appointment. Walk-ins are welcome; however, appointments take priority and walk-ins will be seen contingent upon the availability of a volunteer preparer.
