New hours Change at VCC
Effective March 21, new hours at the Visitor Control Center will be from 7 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday.
West Gate (Rosamond Boulevard) visitors will be unable to retrieve a pass until 7 a.m. and ONLY at the VCC.
Do not attept to get passes from the West Gate before the VCC opens as you will be turned around to the VCC parking lot due to a high volume of traffic.
The North and South Gate will remain unchanged with exception of visitors that have not been pre-vetted. If visitors have not been pre-vetted, they will have to wait until the VCC opens in order to process a criminal history background check.
The VCC reminds all users with government computer access to submit sponsorship requests through the SharePoint site by going to https://cs.eis.afmc.af.mil/sites/edwards/VCC/default.aspx from a government computer.
To have visitors pre-vetted, ensure both the driver’s license and date of birth is included. Incorrect information will delay vetting for your visitor and may result in you having to physically come to the gate after hours.

Electric cars
With the recent fluctuations in gasoline prices, electric cars are rising in popularity. According to Bloomberg, electric cars sales increased by 60 percent worldwide in 2015. And with options ranging from plug-in hybrids like the Chevrolet Volt or BMW i8 to pure electrics like the Nissan Leaf or Tesla Model S, consumers have exciting choices. However, as attractive as these automobile choices are, charging personally owned electric vehicles using government electricity is not allowed. Doing so is akin to filling a personally owned vehicle with gasoline from the government service station.
