Ariana Medina, the reigning Teen Miss Edwards for 2015-2016, is now also Teen Miss Antelope Valley. She was crowned in the pageant held Feb. 13 at Westpark Elementary School in Rosamond. The Teen Miss Antelope Valley Pageant had four contestants this year from different AV cities. Medina took part in a personal interview, introduction speech, speech on chosen topic, and formal wear, all in front of a panel of judges. She also won the photogenic and the friendship award. She will represent the title of Teen Miss Antelope Valley for a year, and at the end of her reign she will receive a scholarship. She was the first to win Teen Miss Antelope Valley from Edwards AFB. She is also a volunteer for Grace Resources and other homeless shelters in the Antelope Valley. She has received a Certificate of Appreciation from Rep. Steve Knight for her community service. Her duties will include representing both Edwards and the Antelope Valley at various events including visiting local veteran’s homes. Her father is Master Sgt. Juan Medina of the 412th Communications Squadron.
